Project - Extension
Location - Corringham
Through our ongoing partnership with Thurrock rugby club we were approached by the family of one of their youth players to undertake a full width extension to their bungalow in Corringham. Ascalon also had the pleasure of building a self contained annex at the bottom of the garden for their eldest to move in too.
The removal of the conservatory has made way for a full width kitchen/diner with bifold doors to the rear and pitched roof lantern. The old kitchen and dining area has now been changed into a spacious living room for the whole family to enjoy. We also fitted the kitchen, laid new flooring throughout and decorated the new and altered areas. We finished the exterior of the extension with a white scratch render.
Project - Extension
Location - South London
Having worked with the clients before on their first property, we were asked to help improve their new home by building a full width rear extension and loft conversion on a Victorian terrace in Wandsworth South London.
The property was in a state of disrepair when the clients purchased it and the resulting extension gave them the free flowing kitchen diner they wanted. The addition of the roof windows, bifold doors and apex glass now floods a previously dark central area of the house with an abundance of natural light.
The loft space had previously been converted but without a rear dormer so the addition of the the rear dormer gave the clients a much improved bedroom space and the ability to create an en-suite bathroom.
Project - Extension
Location - Oxford
Ascalon were approached by Creed Housing who design, convert and build specialised supported housing for vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and Autism. They asked us to build an extension on the side of the property in Oxford for a young lady to move into. The extension had to feel like she had her own self contained living space with kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom but also flow with the rest of the house so as not to make her feel isolated from the rest of the residents in the main house.
Ascalon worked closely, not only with Creed, but also the young lady’s family to achieve a living space that she could call her own.
Project - Shopfit - Before
Location - South West London
We were approached by a professional health and well being clinic to transform an old and sorry looking flower shop into another branch of there up and coming business.
The works entailed a complete revamp and over haul of the entire shop but still retaining some of the old charm of the property. These changes included the formation of three new treatment rooms that had all new electric’s, lighting and heating.
Also each treatment room was to be hard wired with internet access. All the old original floorboards were to be retailed, sanded and stained to give a light and airy feel to all rooms but still kept a nice through back to the original building.
Project - Shopfit - After
Location - South West London
Prominent features of the project included the timber clad wall to the corridor which is all the more striking with the introduction of satin frosted sliding pocket doors. We also installed a contemporary style shower and changing room for their clients convenience.
As with all business premises time is of the essence and the whole process was undertaken in good time and client was able to open for business as planned. I’m sure you’ll agree from the before and after images that the transformation and finish that our tradesmen have produced is something quite special.
All in all another happy customer.
Project - Kitchen and Extension
Location - North London
This project was particularly unique as the original layout of the house had a raised kitchen area and an unused basement beneath.
We removed the entire kitchen level and added an extension to rear of the property which created a wonderfully large and open kitchen and dining room with four metre high ceilings.
Ascalon worked in conjunction with BAT Studios who are group of young and vibrant architects who’s vision and design skills brought the best out of not only the build but also the best out of our team.
The new space benefits from two large flat roof glass windows, underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, w/c and plant room that houses the new heating and hot water system plus solar panel power storage.
The crittle doors to both the rear and internal bring together the modern and traditional feel of the building.
The client’s are very happy with the finished article and are enjoying their new open plan living space.
Refurbishment, Loft Conversion & Extension
Location - North West London
Ascalon under took this project in conjunction with architect for a couple who had purchased this dilapidated property as their first home. The property was in need of a complete overhall which included a whole new heating system and full rewire.
As well as the M & E we also constructed a lean-to extension and loft conversion with roof top terrace.
Included in the build were two new bathroom suites a ground floor w/c and utility room.
The end product transformed this tired three bed one bathroom Victorian terrace into a four bed, two bathroom open plan living spaced family home.
The charming couple moved in and are now enjoying their first home together.
Large House Extension
Location - Kingston Upon Thames
Ascalon were instructed by an architect that we had worked with on many other property’s to form a large rear extension to this imposing property in the heart of Kingston Upon Thames. The extension was constructed from these striking red bricks to form a rear façade of over three meters in height. The two large roof lanterns were formed out of European oak incorporating electrically operated windows to the up stands and finished on the top in zinc cladding.
The joinery partitioning the kitchen from the day room added the air of separation without the dominance of solid walls.
We installed underfloor heating throughout the extension and there was also a state of the art AV and lighting system installed.
As you can see from the images the finishes are to a very high standard and the clients have said that they and their children are extremely pleased with the finish.
